Immune Boosting Asian Pear Ricotta Toast

Immune Boosting Asian Pear Ricotta Toast

If you don’t love toast we just might not be able to be friends. Ok so maybe that’s a bit far… but seriously, let’s talk about how awesome this breakfast option is! It’s a staple in my own kitchen because it’s super easy to make (normally takes under 5 minutes) and is an easy way to load up on super nutritious toppings. Plus, the sweet and savory combinations are endless to fit any crazy craving I wake up with.
On my last trip to Whole Foods I was stoked to find the perfect ingredient I needed to create my newest killer combo- Kitehill almond ricotta cheese. I’d been itching to use ricotta on a breakfast toast for a while, and this non-dairy version of ricotta was just the inspo I needed.
Enter in this perfectly sweet and savory immune boosting Asian pear ricotta toast..
toast3
Creamy ricotta topped with juicy Asian pear slices, sweet and smooth unpasteurized Manuka honey, and the rich, nutty flavor of roasted pistachios. It’s the perfect combination for your sweet and savory craving, plus it’s loaded with nutrients, healthy fats, and protein.
Serious win-win-win-win.

So why Manuka honey?

Simply put, honey isn’t what it used to be. Most honeys you find in conventional grocery stores aren’t much different from high fructose corn syrup. You have to be cautious when buying honey to make sure you are buying one that has actual nutritional benefits and isn’t just loaded with sugar. For starters, always search for the raw, unpasteurized variety. Then, if you are able to spend a little more on your honey (It’s totally worth it), there’s one honey you need to find that has incredible healing benefits and up to 4 times the nutritional content of normal, unfiltered flower honey…Manuka honey! It’s produced by bees in New Zealand who pollenate the Manuka bush, and has been used for thousands of years as a form on natural medicine. Some benefits include, reducing  and/or healing IBS, boosting immunity and energy, improving skin tone and texture, and improving sleep! You can learn more about the incredible benefits here! I’ve been using Wedderspoon 100% Raw Manuka KFactor 16!

So, if your ready to broaden your breakfast horizons and get a super beneficial sweet and savory start to your day, check out my recipe below and get toastin’!
